At a recent conference on diversity and inclusion in the workplace held in Freeport, more than 100 business people came together to learn how to evolve their businesses. They heard success stories from local Maine businesses and from Walgreens and Procter and Gamble, two companies leading the way by integrating people with disabilities into their workforce. The takeaway? Workers with disabilities add value while gaining economic independence, and employers gain dedicated employees.
