Hire Learning

There is a not-so-silent shift taking place in our country today. Hundreds of thousands of veterans are returning home with service-connected disabilities and will need help finding meaningful employment to help them transition back to civilian life. At the same time, the national unemployment rate for working-age Americans with disabilities hovers at 15 percent vs. 9 percent for those without disabilities. This is a significant – and growing – population of Americans who want and need jobs.

The reality is, countless businesses nationwide want to hire them. So Think Beyond the Label has launched an online job feed to directly connect these employers with those they want to hire – qualified candidates with disabilities.

A new job search tool
The new Think Beyond the Label job feed enables workers with disabilities to find job opportunities with employers who are proactively looking to hire qualified candidates with disabilities. And it’s easy to use. If you’re a job seeker using the tool, you can browse thousands of current job listings or enter your own search criteria to search all jobs. The search results are prioritized to first list those companies that are actively recruiting qualified candidates with disabilities.

The growing demand
More and more employers are seeing the value of hiring workers with disabilities. They are taking note that individuals with disabilities, now the largest minority group in the United States, is the most brand loyal group…which means they are also highly loyal to their employers.

Workers with disabilities tend to have longer tenure with their employers than their non-disabled counterparts, and they also bring with them an opportunity to tap into a new marketing segment that has the purchasing power of more than $1 trillion per year. Bottom line: hiring a qualified candidate with a disability is a smart move for employers – a concept that more and more businesses are starting to “get.”

The difference it will make
For all job seekers with disabilities, this new job feed will give you a direct line to employers who want to hire someone just like you – a qualified candidate with a disability and unique abilities. It will help you identify the right opportunities for you and, with hope, secure meaningful employment in your chosen field.

For all employers, this job feed will help you achieve your goal of building a more inclusive workforce, as you find and hire qualified candidates with disabilities who will bring significant value to your organization and help drive return on investment (ROI).

Think Beyond the Label’s new job feed will do more than just help businesses and job seekers think beyond the label. It will help them do. And it will help them succeed. Because it will put qualified workers with disabilities in the jobs that best match their skills and qualifications. What a win-win for candidates with disabilities and the businesses looking to hire them.
